The SAL3D Point Cloud Manager (core3d.dll) allows the user to work with 3D data (COPs and ZMaps). So, in addition to obtain a COP from a range map based on laser triangulation, it is also possible to populate a COP from other 3D sources (like Time-of-flight cameras, structured light, etc). Please take a look to section How to Populate a COP Object for more information.
In addition to work with COP data, the PCM tool allows you to create ZMaps from COP objects. The ZMap allows you to apply 2D tools over tridimensional data to get 3D measurements. The section Advantages of ZMap contains more information about that.
Finally, the PCM tool also contains viewers to help you on your developments to decrease the time to market.
