COMPATIBILITY AND TECHNICAL DATA
Software compatibility, minimum system requirements and technical data. We support frame grabbers from different manufacturers and driver information can be provided for other manufacturers. SAL3D and the 3D image processing tools run in the most popular operating systems (OS).
System Requirements:
Pentium IV at 1GHz*
Windows x86 (32 bits)
*Depending on the application requirements
256 MiB of RAM*
Windows x86_64 (64 bits)
Operating Systems:
Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2, Vista, or Windows7 (32 bits or 64 bits)

Cameras
SAL3D is a library that resides in the PC and acquires data from the frame grabber. Therefore, SAL3D can be used with any camera. Because this is a library oriented to 3D point cloud applications, it is desirable to use a 3D camera. In case a 3D camera is not available, it can be replaced by a 2D camera + software peak detector tool , for laser triangulation applications.
The FPGA peak detector tool is suitable to be installed in 2D cameras or Smart Cameras.
Libraries
The ZMap object of SAL3D allows to share data with 2D libraries to get 3D measures using 2D common tools. Library provides examples of some 2D libraries.
- Halcon (MVTec)
- OpenCV
- Common Vision Blox
- Matrox Imaging Library
3D Data type
SAL3D allows to import data from CAD data (IGES) or meshes (STL) using the CAD Import tool. In addition, the SAL3D Core allows the user to export COP data to standard meshes (STL and PLY).
