Software compatibility, minimum system requirements and technical data. We support frame grabbers from different manufacturers and driver information can be provided for other manufacturers. SAL3D and the 3D image processing tools run in the most popular operating systems (OS).

  • Cameras:

SAL3D is a library that resides in the PC and acquires data from the frame grabber. Therefore, SAL3D can be used with any camera. Because this is a library oriented to 3D point cloud applications, it is desirable to use a 3D camera. In case a 3D camera is not available, it can be replaced by a 2D camera + software peak detector tool , for laser triangulation applications.

The FPGA peak detector tool is suitable to be installed in 2D cameras or Smart Cameras.


  • 3D Data type:

SAL3D allows to import data from CAD data (IGES) or meshes (STL) using the CAD Import tool. In addition, the SAL3D Core allows the user to export COP data to standard meshes (PLY).
